"Nachtschattengewächse" explores the possibility of a new masculinity. Playing with detached perspectives in an artificial environment, the piece questions the logic of characteristics typically ascribed to human bodies read as cis-male. Videographer: @selinalaut & selina-laut.com
A story that starts from the understanding of love, as a "pure feeling" that we portray in light tones from the poetry of the bodies, for a narrative construction from the costumes, the locations, the lighting and the makeup being revealed in four stages that synthesize a simple question, will this really last or is it just an illusion at the moment?
ROSES OF EDEN
A presentation of floral maximalism, inspired by Lawrence Alma-Tadema's 1888 painting "The Roses of Heliogabalus." On first glance, the painting is a beautiful banquet washed in florals. Looking more closely, the guests are buried in the petals, providing contrast between the delicate painting of the bodies and the soft color palette. The scene pulls from this sense of unease, juxtaposing images of softened masculinity against a backdrop of beautiful destruction.
